Sunday 14th March 2010, saw the completion of round 1 of the PCNC competition.
All outstanding games bar two, (to forfeitures) were played yesterday at the Bisini Courts and despite the missing buzz of a normal Sunday at the games, the intensity for each game was still there.
Again the stories all deserve a mention and we'll go through those as the week progresses, but one standout one is for Hardware Haus, who had their first win of the round when they defeated Kina Finance 2 by 16-14. It deserves a mention because of the effort teams like Hardware Haus have put in all season, a story familiar with many teams in the comp and so to have a moment in the winners circle has such a sweeter taste. Well done Hardware Haus.
DHL played their entire game with only six palyers meaning court coverage was always going to be difficult, but led by a determined Ravu Loi-Pasi they lasted the outing with a more than credible 19 - 9 loss to Star Fisheries.
Western Power with their new green and gold strip had two big games to play and were beaten by division leaders TCS in their first game but managed to claw out a good win their second game against DataNets.
This is how they looked last weekend.
The rest of the images will be posted over the next day or so.
The PCNC now gears up for round two and the home stretch to the finals. This is the business end of the season ladies and the wins will matter in this round.
Draws and Scores will be posted over the coming days.
In the meantime the PSNA are gearing up for their grand final this weekend after a successful semi final last wekend. It'll be quite a finale to an eventful season. A lot of rebuilding to happen but lets hope they can get it together over the coming seasons to build it backup to its former glory.
Well done to all the teams for the effort so far, lets hope your employers can get on this site and see, you are actually doing your bit to fly the corporate flag and get them to come to some of the games. They'll have fun, you'll have fun and netball will benefit.
Cheers all and we'll be seeing you "near the hoop" sometime soon.
