The reports state, Pacific MMI was committed to its relationship with the Pepe's and that the funding and cover package would ensure PNG puts its best team on the court in the many pursuits it had this year.
The national team will therefore continue to be called the Pacific MMI Pepe's. The association with Pacific MMI is now into its fourth year and has been mutually rewarding for both sponsor and the team. The Pepe's have had a consistently good run since Pacific MMI first put its hand up as sponsor in 2006 with their most successful claims being gold at Aruafura in 2008 and gold at the Singapore Nations Cup in 2008.

It is understood from Julianne Maliaki, Secretary of the PNGNF that Pacific MMI also made some commitment toward the development of the sport in PNG but the details are scant at this stage. Once we have a story, we'll advise.
The following link will take you to the Post Couriers article from yesterday's News Conference. Unfortunately this is all the detail we can provide on the story as Near the Hoop was not invited to attend the News Conference yesterday.
You have to do a bit of navigating once you get on the PC website, click on the "sports" directory on the left sideboard and then search for the story on the right hand sideboard, once the page has loaded.
