Telikom, who are minor premiers of the premier division this year, find themselves in a slight quandary as their expectations of playing and defending their championship title hang on a win this Saturday. Interestingly enough, both Telikom and NFA were both on 23 points at the close of the season but a better points average gave Telikom the advantage to be named minor premiers. Even more interesting is the fact that Finance finished 3rd on 22 points, only one adrift from Telikom and Fisheries.
Telikom's efficient mid court game has been a feature of their success in 2010
Finance's defence has been just as powerful as its offense
in recent weeks and will be relied on heavily this weekend
Now we find the same three in a tussle that could leave some with egg on their faces. NFA are already parked in the grand final carpark awaiting this weekends game and either way it will still be a hell of a grand final the following week.
All three teams are evenly matched so it's anyone's guess who will take home the dinnerware. Telikom has quite a versatile line up, but then so does Finance. The question now is, with Finance having won last week and Telikom having lost, who will be mentally tough enough on Saturday to bring home the bacon.
You be the judge, but this Saturday you just have to be at the Bisini Courts to see for yourself.
Divisions 4 and 5 start off their final at 09:30 on courts 2 and 3 (that's if the games start on time). Division 2 and 3 are next at 10:10 am and then the main games, Premier and Division 1 will commence at 10:45.
It'll be an interesting set of games. We'll see you there,
